Richard Scott was raised and lives in Codman Square. His journey is rooted in values of care, connection, and community, which continue to inspire his work today as he creates opportunities and strengthens his neighborhood. He has also been shaped by mentors who demonstrated the power of leadership and support.
For the past four years, Richard served as Program Coordinator for the BOLD Teens. In this role, he mentored youth on ways to advocate for social, health, and environmental justice. issues, guiding them through everyday challenges.
He coordinated events like Friday Movie Nights and Playtime in the Park at Dr. Loesch Family Park, which created fun and safe spaces while fostering community pride and connection.
Through this work, Richard empowered young people to see themselves as leaders and change makers.
As manager of the Dorchester Winter Farmers Market for the last three years, Richard supports local farmers and small businesses while expanding access to healthy food. Under his leadership, the market thrived with the launch of a coupon program that made nutritious food more accessible and affordable. His ability to connect people also brought partners and resources together, further strengthening the community.
Richard is also the owner of Watch the Krown, a small business focused on empowerment and impact. Through his brand, he creates natural hair products with the mission of inspiring people to drive progress and make a lasting difference.
