Jennifer James is passionate about helping others. She serves as the president of the Jamaican Association of Massachusetts (JAMA), a non-profit organization based in Boston that serves the local Jamaican diaspora including those in Codman Square and Four Corners. Through this organization, she organizes community events and cultural celebrations such as Jamaica’s Independence Day flag-raising ceremony at Boston City Hall; local volunteer efforts, and international relief initiatives. JAMA was instrumental in supporting Jamaican families after Hurricane Melissa in 2025. JAMA has also organized panels and workshops including a Generation Wealth Panel focused on educating diasporas on financial and estate planning and an Entrepreneurial workshop focused on assisting youth and families with financing, marketing and branding.
Jennifer is passionate about helping others with financial and tax comprehension. Her career spans over twenty-five years in the financial industry. She earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Bentley University, a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration (MBA) form Simmons College, and Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (BS) from Stone Hill College. As the consulting chief financial officer (CFO) at Acacia Business Service, Jennifer works with individuals and business clients to ensure they comply with tax laws by filing their federal, state and local income tax returns. She is an IRS approved tax practitioner and offers tax planning advice to help businesses and individuals manage taxable obligations for their financial and personal goals. She also serves as Life Skills Coach to 12th graders at the YMCA Achievers Program and Scholarship and Funding Director for the Leaders of Tomorrow High School Mentorship Program.
Jennifer boasts that her greatest accomplishments are being a grandmother to Mason and Malia; mother of two, Jodi and Austin, and extended to four with her son in-law Matthew and daughter in-law Katrina. Not forgetting Hunter Bear the family pet. Jennifer also loves to dance.
