Micah Prescott was born in Dominica and moved to Dorchester with his family at age 11. He attended Grover Cleveland Middle School near Fields Corner, where the afterschool program became an important part of his Dorchester experience. After middle school, Micah received an opportunity through A Better Chance, a program supporting historically underserved students, to attend high school in Madison, Connecticut. There, he studied, played football, wrestled & ran track and cross country, boarding during the school year and returning to Dorchester for holidays and summers.
Micah earned a B.A in Economics from Clark University. After living in various neighborhoods in Worcester & Boston, he returned home to Four Corners. He now lives with his partner, Melissa Mazzeo, a small business owner in Dorchester, in his parents’ triple decker, with family upstairs.
As he settled back into Dorchester, Micah became more involved in neighborhood life. He began attending Climate Justice Alliance meetings, an entry point into community work, and completed advocacy training through the Fairmont Indigo CDC Collaborative. He served as an Ambassador for the Codman Square Anti-Displacement Initiative and now works with the Greater Chamberlain Neighborhood Association (GCNA) and volunteers with the Greater Four Corners Action Coalition (GFAC). Much of this work has been a process of listening, making sense of how things work, and collaborating on solutions. Micah is also a Project Manager with Boston ABCD and serves as an election inspector. Micah brings energy and great ideas to his community participation. He listens to differing points of view and always tries to see the other person’s perspective, even when it differs from his own. He also tries to find a middle ground to bring folks together. Micah’s is a champion for the Four Corners Area.
An introvert at heart, Micah enjoys running, hiking, golfing, cycling, reading, woodworking, gardening, and tackling house projects.
