Justin and Jamie Chase of North of Boston Farm

Justin and Jamie Chase founded North of Boston in 2019. They built the farm from scratch, including clearing land and creating soil while setting their sites on becoming compassionate and productive members of the communities they feed.

Jamie has worked her entire life in food service, both regionally and nationally. She holds an undergraduate degree in management, an MS in organizational psychology, and is published in the areas of LGBTQIA+, mentorship, and leadership psychology. Jamie has extensive volunteerism in food equity, and even worked farming alongside Justin as a teen.

Justin was born in Dorchester, has an undergraduate degree in conservation biology and an MBA from Bentley University. Before North of Boston, he worked on his family’s farm in Newburyport, managed the Farmer Training Program at Tufts University, and lobbied extensively for the National Farmers Union in Washington D.C. The two met in kindergarten and have spent decades building a life together while following the adage, ‘a rising tide lifts all boats.’

They joined the Dorchester Winter Farmers Market in 2016 and having been working alongside the Codman Square Neighborhood Council and Codman Square Health Center to bring farm fresh food to the Dorchester community every winter since.
