Youth Opportunities

I am writing to let you know about upcoming opportunities for local youth programming.
The Cedar Grove Baseball Youth League: The league is organized by Charlie Maneikis, a long-time St. Mark Parishioner, and is open to boys and girls ages 4-15 (as of April 30, 2014). You can register online at http://www.cedargrovebaseball.com or in person on Saturday, March 29 and Saturday, April 5, from 1:00-2:30pm, at the Leahy Holloran Community Center (next to the Murphy School) at 1 Worrell Street, Dorchester. For players who are new to the league and are between the ages of 10-15 years old, Trinity Financial is providing 20 full scholarships to participate. The St. Mark Wainwright Summer Youth Program: Registration is now open for St. Mark Parish’s Summer youth program in Dr. Loesch Family Park (formerly Wainwright Park). The program is open to youth ages 6-16, and operates July 7- August 15, 10am-4pm. The cost is $15/week per child. Programming includes recreation, art, academic enrichment, lunch, field trips, and guest speakers. The deadline to register is June 13th, but enrollment is taken on a first come, first serve basis, and space is limited. An application packet is attached.
St. Mark Wainwright Park Family Fun Days: This Summer, St. Mark Parish along with the City of Boston, BOLDTeens, and fellow community organizations will host three, Family Fun Days in Dr. Loesch Family Park (weather permitting) July 19, August 2, and August 16. Family Fun Days are from 11am-4pm and include recreation, face painting, pony rides, a DJ, moon bounce, and information about local youth programs. Food from the grill is provided, but we welcome people bringing food to share with all. Please join in serving our local families and in the development of the park for the enjoyment of all. I have attached informational flyers about the St. Mark programs in the park.
